A fragment is an incomplete part of a manuscript or a printed publication. Most fragments in the NTNU University Library's fragment collection are extracted from book bindings and covers and often consist of cut-out parts of medieval texts. In the 1950s, Lilli Gjerløw (1910-1998) worked on registering and describing the content of the fragments. The fragments have been assigned their own XF numbers that show the context they originally had before being extracted from books.
The fragment collection is currently undergoing revision. Please contact the Special Collections for further information about the fragments.
